Frequently Asked Questions
The cost of each appointment depends on several factors, but our first appointment includes a complimentary consultation with the doctor, then we move forward with an examination, a full set of
specific functional x-rays, and an adjustment. That appointment can range between $100-$350, depending on what needs to be done.
Follow up visits range between $50-$80 depending on the recommendations.
We are an “out-of-network” provider, or a “self-pay” office. However, by law most insurance companies are required to provide “out-of-network” benefits. We can help you submit the claims to insurance in two ways:
- We can submit it electronically for you
- We can provide you with a superbill so you can submit it yourself!
So, although we don’t participate, we have been able to keep our fees manageable and have found our prices align with most insurers’ specialty co-payments!
*If you have specific questions regarding insurance contact us for more information.
Our philosophy on the approach to maintaining your optimal health overtime is different than the perspective of Insurance companies. Being a “self-pay” office allows us to treat without limitations and
restrictions and provide our patients with best level of care.
We recommend you come in comfortable/stretchy clothing. Your adjustment may require you to be put into positions that require some flexibility. Before the doctor comes into the room you should have removed any additional layers of clothing and removed any jewelry or items from your pockets.
On the first Wednesday of each month at 6 pm Dr. Martin gives an introductory class on Chiropractic and what our philosophy is when it comes to your care. He will go over what he’s looking for when reviewing your x-rays and what he expects you to achieve during your experience in our office.
On your first visit to our office, we will give you an introduction into our world of Chiropractic and educate you on how our office differs from others, we will ask you questions about what your needs are and how we can help you. We then will take a specific set of x-rays that show the structural and functional aspects of your spine. If the conditions are optimal, the doctor then will proceed with the first adjustment.
Yes! We require each patient to have a set of x-rays to guide our adjustments. We won’t guess with your health! If we are moving your spine, we should know what it looks like!
There are certain cases in which we would not require an x-ray, for example if you are pregnant, an infant, under the age of 6 for a non-musculoskeletal issue or other reasons that will be made at the doctor’s discretion.
Dr. Martin practices Gonstead and Webster technique depending on what is best suited for your case. His adjustments are “hands-on” manual spinal manipulation.
*If you have concerns with these techniques please talk to the doctor or the staff and we can discuss alternative options.
Your initial appointment could take around 30-40 minutes.
A standard adjustment appointment should range from 5-15 minutes, depending on the services you receive.
No, But you should!
We think long-term care plans are the key to long-term health. We are not just trying to reduce your pain but correct the underlying problem. While most patients experience relief in 8-12 visits it does not mean your condition is stabilized.
Realistically, we will take care of you however long you want to be treated but the recommendation will always be the same: everyone should be adjusted on a routine basis, whether it’s twice a month
or once a month. It is important to keep the joints of your spine moving properly, avoiding interference with your nerves and allowing your organs to function the best they can! You can compare it to exercising or putting braces/retainers on your teeth! It is important to maintain the improvements we have made.
