What to expect on your first visit at Precision Chiropractic
Whether this is your first time or 100th time at a chiropractor’s office, you’ll always be greeted with a smile at Precision Chiropractic! On your initial visit, hopefully you’ve already done your medical history paperwork online, so we’ll confirm that with you. If you have not yet completed it – no sweat, you can fill it out in-office. Then we will ask you for 3 things:
- Your ID
- Your insurance card and HSA/FSA card (optional)
- To take a profile photo on our iPad
A chiropractic assistant (CA) will take you back to explain what distinguishes our office from other chiropractic offices. Spoiler alert: One aspect that sets us apart is that we take a full set of spinal x-rays on almost every one of our patients! We believe that we should have as much data and information about your spine before we adjust you. So, you will change into a gown and the CA will take those images. Or, you can wear or bring athletic clothing. You just cannot have any metal on!
After x-rays, you’ll meet the doctor, who will go over your medical history and hear the story of your main concerns and why you are visiting our office. Then, the doctor will conduct an initial examination of your spine. From there, the doctor will perform your first precise adjustment. Although it depends on the patient, most patients receive adjustments in 2 or 3 regions of their spine.
See what an adjustment looks like! In this video, Dr. Martin adjusts his mom:
After an adjustment, it is normal to feel a little sore, like you’ve worked out! Your vertebrae have been stuck for a while and aren’t used to moving. Remember to ice, ice, ice! We recommend at least 3 times daily for the first month, even on days you haven’t gotten an adjustment.
At checkout, the front desk CA will provide you with a complimentary ice pack and some follow-up information. The CA can answer any more questions you have and will schedule your next appointment, during which we will review our recommendations and get you set up for future visits!
